Hiccups

I woke up with hiccups this morning. Weird. Every time I get the hiccups I kinda start to panic inside that I'm going to turn into one of those people that has the hiccups for prolonged periods of time! Weeks! Months! Years! Seriously, I've seen the chick on the Today show, and who can forget the yellow snake at the Toledo Zoo with the permanent hiccups?

At what point do you realize you're going to be stuck with hiccups forever? It would be really convenient if they began in the fall. That way you could go to continuous haunted houses and after being that scared and they still don't go away, you know you're in trouble! If they first start in the spring you'd just have to have try holding your breath all day (and would probably end up passing out), or trying to drink liquids upside down and that just causes a big mess. Isn't there something about drinking water and chewing a pencil or something? I think I've got that one all wrong.

My hiccups have since gone away today but they'll rear their ugly head again soon and the panic will start all over.
